On The 10th Of June 2019 - 'Back To Basics', is Sadaqat Pervaiz’s exhibition of intricately detailed sketches, scenic landscapes, and alluring portraits. The ‘Heritage Collection’ showcases the UAE and GCC region’s historical sites that he has personally visited.
The Heritage collection in Sadaqat’s show will include a number of historical sites including mosques and forts such as, Al Bastakiya Mosque, which was first established at the end of the 19th century by rich textile and pearl merchants; Al-Hayl Castle, which was once used as the headquarters for Fujairah's ruling family and played an important role in the area's defense; Al Bidyah Mosque, which is thought to be the oldest mosque in the UAE; and Al Jazirah Al Hamra, an old town which is considered by experts to be one of the best places to study traditional coral-stone architecture, used along the coast of the UAE.
“There is no shortage of inspiration to be found in the UAE. All over the seven emirates, there is a wealth of old forts and historic sites just waiting for an artist to capture on canvas. As part of the exhibition, I will be showcasing a few select pieces from my ‘Heritage Collection’, which pays homage to the history and culture of the UAE as well as the wider GCC,” says Sadaqat.
